For the past ten years, the competition for both funds and volunteer resources has steadily increased. At the same time, volunteers have changed what they are interested in and willing to do. Non profits need to educate the staff (co-ordinator or manager of volunteers) and/or other staff/volunteers who guide the work of the organization by engaging volunteers.

This full day workshop will provide your organization with:

• A comprehensive, simple framework for increasing your success with volunteers - 7 Key Steps outlined.
• Best Practices from start to finish that you can implement.
• Ideas and latest research on the changing needs of volunteers (youth-boomers) and what your agency needs to understand to be successful.

Engaging volunteers is like building a puzzle. The pieces in the box are not meaningful until assembled. Once all the pieces fit together it makes so much sense. You can see the full picture... but if you "miss a piece" it can often mean disaster.

Facilitator

This session has been designed by Donna Lockhart, of The RETHINK Group, best known for her online course for Charity Village (Building a Volunteer Program) and her 15 years of teaching the Certificate in Volunteer Management. Donna has 30 years of consulting experience behind the Best Practices she will share with you. She has practical experience engaging volunteers in leadership roles and in recreation, youth and long term care organizations. She is a certified manager of volunteers.
